About Our Scholarship
The LAMA Scholarship Program was established in 2023 to support Latin American students in Newark who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.
Each year, we award multiple scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to help students pursue their educational goals at accredited colleges, universities, or vocational schools.
Our scholarship program reflects L.A.M.A.'s commitment to investing in the future of our community by supporting the next generation of Latin American professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the LAMA Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Heritage
Be of Latin American heritage (at least one parent or grandparent of Latin American descent).
Academic Standing
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled or accepted into an accredited institution.
Community Service
Demonstrate a commitment to community service and leadership (minimum 20 hours per year).
Application Process
1. Submit Required Documents
Upload your transcript, letters of recommendation, personal essay, and proof of acceptance/enrollment.
Deadline: July 30, 2025
2. Selection & Notification
Recipients will be selected and notified of their award. All applicants will receive notice of thier status.
Deadline: July 15, 2025
3. Award Ceremony
Recipients will be honored at our annual scholarship banquet where they'll receive their awards and recognition.
Period: August 16, 2025
